NRW Pellets GmbH is the operator of the pellet plant completed in mid-July. Apart from RWE Innogy Cogen, German Pellets also owns a share of this company. The investment volume of both plants totals approx. € 46 million. The cooperation also foresees the negotiation of gas supply agreements to enable gas from the region to be transported to Turkey and Europe via the Nabucco pipeline. The Cia Aig hydroelectric power station, 3 megawatts of installed capacity, will be sited near Fort William, in the Scottish Highlands. Driven by the fresh water of Loch Arkaig, the new hydropower plant will meet the future electricity requirements of around 1600 households each year.
