Changes on the Executive Board of Essent



  • Huib Morelisse, Chief Technology Officer at Essent, to leave
    RWE Group
  • Dr. Nina Skorupska appointed as successor

Huib Morelisse, currently Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Dutch energy company Essent N.V., has decided to leave the RWE Group on 31 March 2010 to pursue other career opportunities. Before being appointed as CTO at Essent when RWE acquired the company in 2009, Morelisse was CEO of RWE Energy Nederland, having joined the RWE Group in 2002.

Subject to the approval by the Supervisory Board of Essent, Dr. Nina Skorupska will be appointed as successor for the position of CTO at Essent. Skorupska started working in the energy industry in 1992, as a fuel specialist and subsequently worked in senior operational roles such as Station Manager at a power station of National Power, an energy company in the UK, and at RWE Trading. She later became Director Technology Services Generation at RWE npower, the RWE Group’s UK subsidiary. Skorupska is currently Head of Performance Improvement & Participation Management International at RWE AG in Essen.

Dr. Ulrich Jobs, Chief Operating Officer of RWE AG said: “We thank Huib for his contributions to RWE’s market development in the Netherlands and regret his decision to leave RWE. At the same time, we are pleased to appoint Nina to the position of the Chief Technology Officer for Essent. Nina has a long track record in managerial positions in a technical environment and also broad international experience. We wish her all the best and success in her new position. In addition, we are proud to enhance the number of female colleagues in top management positions across the Group with this appointment.”

A decision on Nina Skorupska’s successor at RWE AG will be taken in due course.
