Explotaciones Eólicas de Aldehuelas owns and operates a wind farm with an installed capacity of 47.2 megawatts in the Spanish region of Castile-Léon near the city of Soria. Therefore RWE Innogy can increase its Spanish wind portfolio to 447 MW installed capacity.more

RWE Innogy has started today the first construction activities for the Titz wind farm in the north of the Rhenish mining area. Ten wind power systems each with a total height of 150 metres are to be erected here in the next twelve months in the immediate vicinity of RWE's Garzweiler opencast mine. The wind farm will be designed for a total electrical capacity of 20.5 megawatts. The investment volume totals some € 32 million.more

Essen-based RWE Innogy and Conetwork Erneuerbare Energien (CEE), of Hamburg, a company in which Bankhaus Lampe has a participating interest, today sealed their agreement on long-term venture capital co-operation. CEE has taken a EUR 25 million stake in Innogy Renewables Technology Fund I (IRTF I), and holds thereby around 22 percent of the fund. RWE Innogy is increasing its contribution accordingly. As a result, the fund volume now tops the EUR 115 million mark. The fund portfolio currently consists of nine technology companies, and the aim is to expand to up to fourteen. This means the fund is fully funded, and there is no change in the time to its maturity, at the end of June 2018. In addition to its stake in the fund, CEE is taking over 25.1 percent of Innogy Venture Capital GmbH, the fund's general partner, and receives a seat on its investment committee.more

RWE Innogy today successfully completed the installation of a measuring tower in the German North Sea. The measuring system has been installed in the construction area of the Nordsee Ost offshore windfarm 30 km north of Heligoland. RWE Innogy will start the construction of the windfarm at the beginning of next year. The measuring tower with a total height of about 97 metres above sea level will from now on supply meteorological data on wind velocities, wind direction, turbulence as well as temperatures, air pressure and air humidity. Moreover, wave height, water level and visibility will be measured permanently. more

All foundations of the offshore wind farm Thornton Bank 2 has been successfully installed off the coast of Belgium. The installation work started in June this year and has been accomplished on schedule. In total, 25 jacket foundations for the wind turbines and one offshore transformer station have been installed 30 kilometres off Oostende in water depth between 12 and 25 metres. Every steel foundation is 50 metres high and weighs around 550 tons. Using a heavy duty crane, the foundations were placed on top of pre-installed piles on the seabed and attached to them. The foundation structures were manufactured in Hoboken near Antwerp, and transported via pontoons through the Scheldt estuary to its final destination on high sea. more

Today saw the festive inauguration of the Andasol 3 solar thermal power plant by a consortium of five German companies in the Spanish province of Granada. The completion of the third Andasol power plant on a site measuring some two square kilometres has meant the creation of the largest European solar power plant - located in Andalusia, southern Spain. Attending the power plant inauguration ceremony were the General Secretary of Industry and Energy for Andalusia, Isabel De Haro Aramberri, as well as board members of those companies with a stake in Andasol 3: Stadtwerke München, RWE Innogy, RheinEnergie, Ferrostaal and Solar Millennium.more

Anzi wind farm

Following a year of construction work, RWE Innogy today commissioned its third onshore wind farm in Italy. The Anzi wind farm is situated on a plateau 1,100 metres above sea level in the southern Italian region of Basilicata. The eight wind turbines supplied by Danish manufacturer Vestas have a combined output of 16 megawatts, thus allowing the production of 31 million kilowatt-hours of environmentally friendly electricity every year. Convert these figures and this volume is sufficient to supply over 10,000 households with their annual electricity needs. The Anzi wind farm is the third wind power project which RWE Innogy has developed and established in cooperation with its strategic partner in Italy, FRI-EL Green Power. RWE Innogy holds a majority interest - 51% - in the project. The investment volume totals 26 million euros.more
