RWE takes its social responsibilities very seriously indeed and not just in its core business, but in the regions in which it operates, in the bodies and associations to which it belongs and in direct dialogue with ordinary people and community groups.
Despite having an international thrust, RWE is, and always will be firmly anchored in the regions in which it operates. We award our contracts locally wherever possible and invite local residents and neighbours to drop by.
We launched our Companius programme in September 2007. Companius brings together all the initiatives that our German subsidiaries have set up to support their employees’ community involvement under one roof.
Our sponsorship activities are now focused on youth, education and the future. The funding that we provide for private initiatives and organisations is further proof that we stand by our responsibility to society.
Our cooperation with other companies under the auspices of NGO or industry-wide initiatives is yet another indication of just how committed to honouring our responsibilities we are. RWE has greatly enlarged the scope of this type of cooperation in recent years.
