Meike Weinberg - “Steep learning curve and lots of responsibility”
“After my master’s programme in international business, I joined RWE Consulting as a consultant in the middle of 2010. What I find particularly interesting about my job is the opportunity to get to know the entire RWE Group and all levels of the supply chain. Of course, the commitment to work abroad and the cooperation with international staff members are part of it.
Hence, my first two projects took me to the Netherlands where I first started working in an international team and then in a pure Dutch team. At present, I am working in a project in the grids division at our headquarters in Essen – after more than a year, I have made slides in German for the first time in a long time. My project leaders let me work very independently right from the start so that I was already holding my own workshops and meetings with our internal customers shortly after my final degree.
What I truly like about my job is the fact that I can always count on the support of my experienced colleagues. The term “steep learning curve” sounds like a bit of a stereotype but it definitely does apply to me. Another positive thing at RWE Consulting: there are no given standard times at any consulting level. You can get ahead very quickly by good ratings for the individual projects.”
