Dieksand Land Station controls onshore oil production and processing

ctSince mid-2000, advanced drilling technology has also made it possible to produce oil from the eastern sections of the Mittelplate reservoir from the mainland. Experienced specialist crews use process control systems to supervise production from the Dieksand Land Station.

Oil treatment at the facility

The heart of the facility is the processing plant, where the crude oil produced from the Mittelplate field is treated before delivery to refineries. Horizontal separators separate the crude oil arriving from the wells via general and field pipelines into clean oil, petroleum gas and condensate. Reservoir water is separated and re-injected into the reservoir in a closed circuit to maintain the level of pressure. The crude oil is then treated further in four flat-bottomed tanks with a capacity of 2,500 m3 each. Via long-distance pipelines, the crude oil is subsequently pumped through the transport pipeline to Brunsbüttel for delivery to customers. The gas is fed into compressors, from where it is pumped to a gas dehydration plant and then on to Brunsbüttel by pipeline. In parallel, the condensate separated out earlier is also pumped off.
The construction concept for the Dieksand Land Station, which covers an area of 55,000 m2, is specifically designed to minimize the impact of operations on the environment.
