Optimized exploitation of oil reserves

The mission: to produce oil, protect the environment, and do both safely. Oil production at Mittelplate has been based on this fundamental concept from the very beginning. The scorecard of oil production in the course of two decades is very good.
Oil production in the sensitive Wattenmeer tidelands ecosystem has been incident-free throughout. It accords with the guiding principle of the national park legislation, namely that protection of the Wattenmeer tidelands and the benefits derived from the use thereof must be reconciled.

The course of the offshore pipelines

Highly qualified employees and the most sophisticated drilling, production and transport concept that is constantly adjusted to state-of-the-art technology have set an international industry benchmark. The substantial capital spending on new projects and operating facilities in recent years will facilitate a continuous and reliable production and accelerated development of oil reserves in future. The transportation of crude oil is ensured by a pipeline completed in 2005. This makes it possible to transport the crude from the drilling and production island to the processing facilities at the Dieksand Land Station. The throughput capacity of the processing systems onshore has been more than doubled, to 2.5 million mt per annum. Capital spending on the construction of the pipeline and extension work on the processing facilities totaled more than € 100 million.
