The ongoing enhanced development of the offshore operation over the years ensures that the sensitive ecosystem is not impacted by any work being carried out. Sophisticated monitoring and control systems provide multiple levels of safeguards for all drilling and production operations.

Based on the principle of minimizing any impact on the ecological systems, a sophisticated technical concept was also developed for the wells drilled from the mainland and for the ongoing onshore operation.

Safety of visitors and staff

The safety of visitors and crews on Mittelplate Drilling and Production Island takes top priority. There is a clear set of rules of conduct that everybody must obey. Before anyone is permitted to set foot on Mittelplate Island, they must attend a detailed safety induction session. Safety clothing must be worn at all times.
