Biblis nuclear-power station
The power station
The Biblis power plant is located 13 km northeast of the town of Worms on the State of Hesse's side of the Rhine. The station consists of power-plant units, so-called pressurized-water reactors, with an electric output of 2,394 MW. When Germany's 13th Nuclear Energy Act amendment came into force on 6 August 2011, the plant lost its authorization for power operation. Hence, the power plant is in the phase of low-power and shutdown operation.
After the cessation of its authorization for power operation, a nuclear-power station in the subsequent phase of non-full power operation is subject to the regularly applicable, still valid rules of its operating permit (eg ensuring the necessary availability of the systems in non-full power operation, carrying out maintenance work, and recurring audits).
