Servicing, inspection, repair and improvement are the four major areas of activity of the RWE Maintenance & Engineering Center. Maintenance, according to the DIN 31051 standard, includes all “measures for maintaining and restoring the normal condition as well as for determining and evaluating the actual condition of technical components of a system”.
3,500 parts are being processed at the same time
The RWE Maintenance & Engineering Center employs a workforce of 800 people, including 100 engineers. The settings for the RWE Maintenance & Engineering Center’s wide area of operation are manifold: design on the computer, metal processing on the lathe, materials testing – about 3,500 parts are being processed at the RWE Maintenance & Engineering Center at any time. This variety of tasks is met by the extensive and well founded expertise of the employees at the RWE Maintenance & Engineering Center.
Future-oriented and comprehensive apprenticeships
In the training workshop around 100 young people complete their apprenticeships as industrial mechanics, metal cutting mechanics, welders and draughtspersons every year. The technical versatility of the RWE Maintenance & Engineering Center and the variety of departments, all using state-of-the-art technology, ensure future-oriented and comprehensive training.
