RWE Innogy today announced that it has acquired the project company ENOVA Energieanlagen GmbH, which is part of the ENOVA Group. This acquisition includes the rights to the offshore wind project North Sea Windpower 3 (NSWP3). Following the acquisition, the wind farm will be renamed Innogy Nordsee 1. Upon approval from the authorities, this will be the largest planned offshore wind farm off the German coast with an anticipated 960 megawatts capacity. It is to be built 40 kilometres north of the North Sea island of Juist, with a area of around 150 km2. more

RWE AG today reacted with grave concern to the climate package agreed by the Heads of State and Government of the European Union. Commenting on the decision to make the EU’s energy companies buy all their emissions allowances at auction from 2013 to 2020, RWE Power CEO Dr. Johannes Lambertz remarked that "the EU has failed to create a level-playing field and has greatly weakened Germany as a centre of energy production". more

To bring the proceedings over its natural gas interests to an end, RWE AG has submitted a formal statement of commitment to the EU Commission to sell its German gas transmission network (TSO Gas). more

npower renewables, the UK fully owned subsidiary of RWE Innogy, has today been granted consent by the Department of Energy and Climate Change to build and operate the 750 megawatt (MW) Gwynt y Môr wind farm off the coast of North Wales. more

RWE today placed two benchmark bonds with a total volume of Euro 2 billion via RWE Finance B.V: one bond with a term of five years and one bond with a term of 10 years. The volume of the bonds is Euro 1 billion each. more

RWE has reconfirmed its forecast for fiscal 2008. The Group is planning to pay a dividend of 70 to 80% of recurrent net income for fiscal 2008, up from the previous level of 50 to 60%. The first three quarters show a stable, positive trend, with the operating result up by 5% and recurrent net income rising by 20%. more

npower renewables, the UK fully owned subsidiary of RWE Innogy, has acquired 50% of the equity in Greater Gabbard Offshore Winds Limited (GGOWL) from Scottish and Southern Energy plc (SSE). The development of Greater Gabbard, excluding the connection to the electricity grid, is expected to require investment of around £1.3 billion. more
