Factbook CO2 Emissions Trading in Europe
The Bundesrat (Upper House) has approved the statutory framework for allocating CO2 emission rights for the years 2008 to 2012. There is now clarity regarding the key points of emissions trading for the RWE core markets of Germany and the UK until the end of 2012.
The Factbook highlights the essential features of the new German and UK allocation plans and its implications for RWE. It contains information on European emission figures and reduction targets, as well as the Kyoto mechanisms enabling companies to generate certificates through emission reductions outside their native countries.
