Inspection Management – Turbine rotating plant

RWE Power International can provide a range of innovative NDE solutions for the challenges you face operating turbine related rotating plant, including LP turbines, HP turbines, IP turbines, generator rotors, fans and anything else that rotates.

Rotating plant can be examined by condition monitoring during continuous operation or inspected using our Non Destructive Examination (NDE) methods during plant maintenance periods.

RWE’s condition monitoring, if appropriate to the application, can monitor the integrity of rotating plant and optimistically detect the onset of plant degradation; the condition monitoring output can then be used to focus the impending NDE programme.

RWE Power International can offer you the following NDE services for your rotating plant:

Blade roots and fixings

Phased array inspection of curved entry fir tree blade roots and disc steeples

RWE’s development of ultrasonic techniques, which can be deployed to inspect blade roots and disc steeples of various designs without removal of blades, allow RWE Power International to give a high degree of confidence in results, both in terms of minimum defects size and repeatability.
