RWE today announced that Nabucco will offer the cheapest option to Caspian gas producers such as Azerbaijan to link their gas resources with the large downstream markets of Europe. Comparing publicly available data from other pipeline projects as South Stream, Interconnector Greece-Italy (IGI) and Trans-Adriatic-Pipeline (TAP), RWE has established clear evidence of the considerable benefits for Nabucco. Stefan Judisch, CEO of RWE Supply & Trading said: “Nabucco offers the Caspian producers the highest net back value for their planned gas deliveries to Europe and the most secure transportation route. The figures clearly show that Nabucco is significantly the cheapest of all the proposed Southern Corridor projects in terms of the cost of transporting the gas to Europe.” Opening the Southern Corridor through Nabucco will enhance security of supply for Europe and security of demand and gas prices for suppliers in the Caspian region and the Middle East.more

Azerbaijan is a country rich in energy sources, especially in the Caspian Sea. Its capital city Baku is known as the cradle of the oil industry. On 20 September 1994, the “Contract of the Century” provided the framework for Western companies to tap new oil and gas reserves in the Azerbaijani part of the Caspian Sea as well as for export to the West and to the global market. Azerbaijan wants to further develop this role. In the future Azerbaijan could be one of the main supplier countries for the Nabucco gas pipeline. RWE was among the guests invited to the ceremony to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the signing of the contract. RWE enters into energy partnership with Turkmenistan
RWE is entering into an energy partnership with Turkmenistan. During a visit of a RWE delegation to Ashgabat, the chairman of the State Agency for the Management and Use of Hydrocarbon Resources of Turkmenistan, Yagshigeldy Kakayev, and Juergen Grossmann, CEO of RWE AG signed a Memorandum on long-term co-operation, covering various areas of the energy sector.

New Management Board at RWE Supply & Trading
RWE is reallocating Management Board tasks at RWE Supply & Trading. The reason this step is being taken is the recently announced partnership between RWE and Dutch energy provider Essent N.V. as well as the planned reinforcement of the company’s business with industrial custom-ers through the amalgamation of RWE Key Account GmbH with RWE Supply & Trading GmbH.

The office is located on the 42nd floor of the Emirates Towers at Sheik Zayed Road – in the middle of Dubai’s business centre and in the neighbourhood of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). The office is being managed by Keiron Ferguson.
