The Proposal

RWE npower renewables is investigating the possibility of building and operating a wind farm approximately 8km south of Oban in Argyll and Bute. The site lies to the west of A816 between Kilmelford and Kilninver and the proposed Wind Farm comprises 15 turbines, with a maximum height to blade tip of 125 metres.

The project will have a maximum total capacity of approximately 45 megawatts (MW), producing enough green electricity to meet the average annual electricity demands of up to 25,200 homes1.  This takes into account times when the Wind Farm will not be generating, such as periods of low or no wind speeds.
