RWE npower renewables
The UK has a huge amount of renewable resources, including the best wind resources in Europe. It’s clear that generating energy using wind, hydro, wave tidal and other renewable technologies is crucial if we’re going to diversify our generating mix, secure our energy supply and reduce our emissions all at the same time.
Renewable generation by itself won’t be able to fill the anticipated energy gap in the short term. The UK has a target to supply 15% of electricity from renewables by 2015 – we have an important part to play in reaching that target.
RWE npower renewables, part of RWE Innogy, is one of the UK’s leading renewable energy companies, with a portfolio of onshore and offshore wind farms and hydroelectric power projects capable of generating around 500MW.
In addition, RWE has vigorous renewable energy growth plans in the UK and has a high volume of new projects consented, awaiting consent determination and in the pre-planning stage.
