RESPONSIBILITY IN THE CO₂ COMMUNITY

Almost nothing is currently creating more waves amongst the general public and politicians than the topic of climate protection. With its climate protection targets of 20-20-20 for the year 2020 (20 percent renewable energies, 20 percent more energy efficiency and 20 percent CO₂ reduction), the EU has clearly thrown its weight behind sustainable business. RWE Supply & Trading has also taken a clear position on those environmental goals and is supporting several European key accounts in improving their individual environmental balance sheets. This includes the construction of CHP-based and highly efficient customer power plants, as well as supplying them with power from renewable energy sources.

As a consulting partner, we take on the responsibility for investments in new plants, or manage the planning permit process for climate protection projects.

Certificate trading

Ever more important for industrial companies is the trading in emission certificates within the context of the Kyoto Protocol. With competent advice and flexible trading contracts for all relevant emission certificates (EUA, CER, ERU), we do our bit in optimising a customer-specific CO₂ portfolio.

Climate protection

For companies that see opportunities to implement international emission reduction projects themselves, we also offer our energetic support in optimising technical processes and in the time-consuming planning permit processes. In doing so, our international climate protection experts, with their many years of experience, can make a decisive contribution in CDM and JI projects to the success of the customer’s own environmental protection projects.
