Enhancing education
Our npower Brighter Futures programme aims to inspire young people from their first day at school to their first day at work.
We achieve this by:
- helping young people to develop their skills and knowledge to make their own choices
- empowering young people to achieve their vision of a ‘brighter future’ for themselves and for the environment
Our activities focus on:
- environmental education - raising young people's awareness of climate change and helping them to make positive changes to the way they use and save energy at home and at school while helping schools to save energy, money and carbon emissions.
- our commitment to increasing the pool of young Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) talent to ensure young people understand the importance and relevance of those subjects and so that our industry can attract these young people as potential future employees.
As part of our commitment to inspiring young people, we want to ensure that our education related initiatives and resources meet the needs of the education sector, education professionals and students. To do this, we work closely with a range of Education Business Partnership Organisations (EBPOs) at a local and national level.
Our ongoing relationships with stakeholder organisations help us to better understand the Government's education priorities and how we can support the development of young people's skills when they enter the 'world of work'.
