Charitable donations
Our Charity Committee, which is responsible for assessing funding requests against a set of criteria, meets every six weeks. It’s chaired by Alison Cole, Director of Communications, and is made up of representatives from across the company.
The Committee donates to a wide variety of causes and also selects, along with the support of our employees, one charity partner who we form a unique partnership with. This partnership ensures that we can develop a strong working relationship with the charity and deliver long-term benefits.
Having asked all our employees for their opinions and preferences, our current partner is Macmillan Cancer Support, who we’ve been working with since 2004 - our partnership is now valued at £5 million.
In 2011, the Charity Committee donated over £250,000 to more than 40 charities and community organisations across the UK.
