Climate Cops Academy
Our Climate Cops Academy events are highly interactive days, focused on climate change, giving pupils the opportunity to learn about energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainable living, through fun, hands-on activities, video presentations and team challenges.
Since the programme launched in November 2007, over 20,000 students have graduated from npower's Climate Cop Academy. On average, before taking part in the Academy, only around one third of pupils feel they know how to make a difference to climate change - this increases to almost 100% afterwards.
"The Climate Cops Academy has taught the children about climate change and saving energy in a really fun, engaging way. They've learnt some simple ways to conserve energy that will make a big difference to our school, their homes and the environment. We also received a free energy survey which identified energy saving recommendations that we could implement within our school to help us save energy and CO2." Carol Taylor, Headteacher at Haslucks Green School, Solihull.
