The proposed project would be located within the counties of Conwy and Denbighshire, south of Denbigh, and due east of Llyn Brenig.

This site is within an area specifically designated by the Welsh Assembly Government, in its Technical Advice Note 8 (TAN 8) as suitable for large scale development of renewable energy schemes.

TAN 8 identifies 7 areas in Wales where wind farms could be best sited, by looking at factors such as wind speeds, upland areas, generally sparsely populated, and important landscape or ecological designations.
