Boat Landings

Forth Guardsman installing a boat landing  To maintain the wind turbines, personnel access them by boat, and therefore each pile has been fitted with a “boat landing” comprising a ladder and two fenders. The fenders are positioned one either side of the ladder and project out from the pile, allowing a small vessel carrying maintenance crew to temporarily secure itself alongside the ladder to transfer personnel. The boat landings were transported out to site and installed using the vessel “Forth Guardsman”.
