Certifications

The RWE IT management system was re-certified in March 2010. Whether the policies represent the international standard ISO 9001:2008 was audited thereby.

In contrast to earlier certifications, the RWE IT Group as a whole was examined and certified rather than each IT company separately. Specifically looked at thereby were sites in

• Germany (Essen, Dortmund, Cologne, Grevenbroich)
• The UK (Swindon, Worcester, Kingswinford, Leeds)
• Poland (Warsaw)
• Slovakia (Kosice)

Because of their comparatively low headcount, the companies in the Czech Republic and Hungary were not included in the audit.

In addition, RWE IT GmbH holds a confirmation of quality assurance certificate in accordance with KTA 1401 (KTA - Nuclear Safety Standards Commission) for the company’s branch in Essen and the services “Planning / development, implementation, operation and software maintenance for operational control systems in nuclear power plants”.

The Neurath data centre is certified in accordance with TÜVit “Trusted Site Infrastructure” (TSI). This certification confirms compliance for areas of safety that require high availability and security. Together with two other data centres, the Neurath data centre fulfils the highest requirements of TÜVit “Trusted Site Infrastructure” certification, achieving the best possible category, Level 4.
