CR key figures
Progress and setbacks in our CR areas for action can be measured by the CR key figures presented here according to subject area.
The key data relate to all the affiliated companies in the RWE Group, meaning all those companies in which we held a stake of 50 percent or more during the period under review. When deciding which key data to provide, we were guided by the recommendations of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), including the requirements of the Sector Supplement Electric Utilities.
We obtain our environmental data from our own Group-wide Environmental Reporting and Information System (ERIS). The economic data are based on the consolidated annual statement and management report, prepared according to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), as applied in the EU, and in accordance with the requirements of the German Commercial Code (Handelsgesetzbuch, HGB).
The personnel data were prepared by Group Human Resources, which also publishes its own personnel report.
Since 1998, RWE has developed a comprehensive environmental management system. The tried and tested structures in that system are now being applied to our developing CR management system as well.
Presented in the following are those facts and figures that we regard as essential to an understanding of the environmental impacts of our business.
The figures that follow show the distribution of our customers in the gas and electricity business, broken down according to region and customer group.
