Paul has over 40 years’ experience working in the Electricity Supply Industry, over 20 of those years spent working in Power Stations. His career started as an Electrical Craftsman apprentice and he worked his way up to become a Maintenance Planning Engineer for a 2000MW Station. During that time he gained experience within Operations as a Safety Controller and also within Maintenance as an Electrical engineer resulting in broad operational experience working on power plant. He continued his career at the Swindon Head Office where he became the Work Management technical lead. Currently he is looking after the Information Engineering team who are responsible for developing, implementing and supporting many of the specialist software applications used within Generation delivering a competitive advantage to the business, including Plant Maintenance and Operations, Process & Thermal Optimisation, Commercial and Business Systems.
What gives you most satisfaction in your work?
Knowing that our own stations use and rely on our IT applications to make their jobs easier.
