RWE Power invests and participates in climate protection projects under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and Joint Implementation (JI). CDM refers to the mechanism for environmentally compatible development in emerging markets and threshold countries, while JI stands for the joint implementation of projects by industrialized nations.

We finance projects within the scope of the CDM/JI, provide advice, or utilize our technical and CDM expertise into project support.

In addition, we are also interested in the purchase of Certified Emission Reductions (CERs) from CDM projects and Emission Reduction Units (ERUs) from JI projects.
