How Staythorpe will look
The new gas-fired power station at Staythorpe will generate four times as much electricity as the previous coal-fired power stations. However, modern CCGTs are compact facilities compared to old coal-fired stations and RWE npower is committed to limiting the visual impact of the new station.
We have chosen the colours carefully to ensure that the station blends in with the skyline and have designed the power station so it is built within the existing site in a position to minimise any visual impact. This is supported by landscaping and planting of more than 50,000 trees and shrubs both on and off the site. Further landscaping works will take place once the construction activity has finished and the power station has been commissioned.
