Career opportunities
In the UK, the nuclear industry currently employs over 40,000 people, with more than 40,000 further jobs created by the investment, research and development the industry brings with it.
RWE already employs over 13,000 people in the UK, including over 2,000 directly involved in power generation. Our investment in nuclear new build will generate significant opportunities including potentially more than 8,000 new jobs in total. We estimate that this could include:-
- around 5-800 permanent jobs at each 3GW site, plus hundreds of additional jobs in the local community
- up to 5,000 construction jobs created at each 3GW site over the nine year construction period
