Willington gas pipeline - community consultation

The Infrastructure Planning Commission (IPC) places great importance on community consultation, as do we.  This means keeping local people fully up-to-date with project developments and ensuring they have opportunities to comment and feedback on proposals.

The first step in doing this was for us to work with the relevant local authorities to agree a Statement of Community Consultation (SOCC) setting out how we will consult with the local community on our proposals for a new gas pipeline for Willington C Power Station. 

To ensure our consultation programme meets the needs of local people, we invited Derbyshire and Staffordshire County Councils, South Derbyshire District Council, East Staffordshire Borough Council and Lichfield District Council to give their feedback on our proposed consultation programme and, where possible, have incorporated their comments.
