New managing director Michael Neff in office

Michael Neff joined the Management Board of RWE IT GmbH on 1 July 2010. He will take over as the new CIO of the RWE Group from 1 February 2011 and will then also assume the position of Chief Executive Officer of RWE IT GmbH. The appointment of Michael Neff as the future successor to Chittur S. Ramakrishnan was announced at the end of January.

Neff has a track record of experience in the IT sector spanning more than twenty years. He has held positions in a number of companies, including Hoechst AG, Aventis Pharma AG and has been Chief Information Officer at Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG since 2000. The German magazine Computerwoche awarded him the title of “CIO of the Year" for his achievements at the company.

The managing directors of RWE IT GmbH, Stefan Niehusmann and Chittur S. Ramakrishnan, are pleased to have Michael Neff on board: “Michael Neff can offer outstanding global expertise combined with longstanding experience in IT management. His skills will be of great benefit to RWE IT in the challenges it will face in future as a pan-European internal IT service provider in the RWE Group.”

In order to gain an initial insight into his future position Neff first task is visit the individual divisions and corporations within RWE IT and get an overview of the important projects underway at the company. Michael Neff: “I am especially looking forward to personally meeting the employees at the various facilities.”

Until he steps down, Chittur S. Ramakrishnan, the CEO of RWE IT GmbH and CIO of the RWE Group, will assist Michael Neff in preparing for the tasks ahead of him. On reaching retirement age, Ramakrishnan will leave the company and retire at the end of January 2011.
