RWE npower Wildlife Trusts
RWE npower has been supporting numerous projects of the British Wildlife Trusts through many years now. Wildlife Trusts consists of 47 regional independent organisations that concern themselves with specific local environmental issues on a non-profit basis. More than 600,000 members in Great Britain volunteer in flora and fauna projects in an area of more than 80,000 hectares.
RWE npower is especially active in the Yorkshire, North East and Midlands regions. Support there is not just limited to handing over cheques, npower employees are also actively involved as volunteers.
Through this employee engagement numerous photovoltaic plants and wind turbines were installed at schools in recent years. Children and young people are acquainted to the topic of "regenerative energies". In addition, RWE npower initiated two well-respected competitions, the Conservation Awards and the People and Nature Development Awards (PANDA).
