Biomass

Generating electricity and heat from biomass is an important part of our renewables portfolio. RWE Innogy operates biomass power stations in Germany with an installed electrical capacity of close to 100 MW and a thermal capacity of 632 MW. These power stations are fuelled in part with biomass obtained from short-rotation plantations (SRPs). Protecting and improving biodiversity are always a primary concern when planning and cultivating SRPs.
