Supporting the development of our employees
We see it as our role to support the development of our employees and help them attain qualifications that will prepare them even better for their current and future tasks. Through targeted, modern personnel development programmes and tools, we assist them in their efforts to increase their professional expertise as well as pursue their own personal development. To this end, RWE Dea fosters a culture of lifelong vocational education. In our Company, systematic succession planning forms an integral part of a responsible and successful human resources policy.
Employee qualifications
Offering attractive programmes of education not only improves the skills and competence of our employees, it also increases their commitment, motivation and loyalty to the Company. Our employees – from apprentices and trainees right through to top-level executive staff – can rely on a diverse range of internal and external training courses and seminars to help them further their vocational training. The range of educational offerings includes programmes for achieving professional excellence as well as for developing greater social competence, the so-called soft skills. Given the increasing internationalisation of RWE Dea’s operations, a further focus of the personnel development programme is the teaching of foreign languages and the provision of cultural training.
Internal development for technical and management personnel
RWE Dea places a high priority on the internal development of its technical and management staff. This means that we support our employees in their endeavour to reach their full professional potential. Through ongoing technical and professional training, we ensure that our employees attain in-depth knowledge in their respective areas of expertise.
In addition, we have implemented a potential assessment process that is conducted on a regular basis. This provides us with the means to identify in systematic fashion those employees capable of assuming higher duties and prepare them for their future roles through individual development measures. In doing so, we ensure that existing potential is exploited systematically for the benefit of the Company by providing employees with high potential with long-term development opportunities. We allow all interested employees to take on higher duties, even elsewhere within the RWE Group. Personnel development tools such as the annual employee review, job rotation and systematic career and succession management are among the mainstays of our personnel development strategy and are in use throughout the Group.
