Environmental Education Workshops

RWE npower renewables independent education partner, Rowanbank, has worked in partnership with our highly experienced technical departments to develop an environmental education workshop for delivery in schools.

The high action, half day, curriculum linked workshop is aimed at Key Stage 2 pupils (age 7 to 11). The aim of this event is to promote pupils understanding of climate change and renewable energy and how they can help the environment in a fun and interactive way. The pupils work with mini wind turbines, a solar hotbox and hydro electric model and they take part in lots of games and experiments.

Where RWE npower renewables chooses to offer a program of environmental education days in relation to one of our renewable energy sites we make direct contact with schools to offer the opportunity to one of their classes.  To find out more, take a look at our case studies about education workshops that were held in association with our operational Lochelbank Wind Farm near Perth in Scotland and our consented site near Goole in East Riding.
