Energy Impetus for Society

Where will we get our energy from in the future? And how will we deal with this? There are many challenges for the 21st century associated with these questions, for instance the protection of the environment and climate.

Society will only find the answers if it is given impetus – technically as well as creatively. RWE aims to deliver such impetus, not only in its core field of business. The Group therefore operates a non-profit foundation that pools together its civic involvement and links this involvement with the topic of energy.

In geographical terms, the Foundation’s work focuses on North Rhine-Westphalia, especially the Ruhr district, as RWE has historical roots in this region. Funds from RWE Foundation also go towards projects outside of this region and in Europe.
