25 years’ safe oil production

Mittelplate Drilling and Production Island has been producing oil in the Wadden Sea tidelands off the coast of Schleswig-Holstein for a quarter of a century without a single incident. These 25 years represent a remarkable milestone in an eventful success story. Today the project has become a model for eco-friendly oil production in sensitive environments around the world.
