Scholarship Programme in Music

RWE Dea actively supports cultural activities

On 19 October 2000 the "RWE Dea Scholarship Programme in Music" was established as a collaboration between RWE Dea, The Research Council of Norway and "Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft".

The aim of the foundation is to encourage the interaction between Germany and Norway within the academic, scientific and cultural areas. The scholarships are financed through means from the foundation assets of the "RWE Scholarship Foundation in Music, Norway", presently amounting to approximately NOK 4 million.

Emphasis has been put on classical music where the exchange of artists is concerned. Several scholarships with a duration of five to ten months will be awarded every year. The objective is to make it possible for very talented students of music to pursue their studies under expert guidance in Germany.

The Research Council of Norway undertakes the administration and receives the applications, issues the scholarships, takes care of the scholarship recipients and pays out the money.
