RWE Dea Polska currently holds rights to 6 concession blocks for the search (exploration) for hydrocarbons. The concessions are located about 100 km southeast of Krakow in the Carpathian Mountains and comprise a total area of approximately 3300 km².

Until the year 2010, RWE Dea was a 100% operator in the licence areas. Since August 2010, the Australian company Cooper Energy has held a 40% exploration stake in all concessions. RWE Dea remains the operator with a shareholding of 60%.

In 2009/2010, a 3D seismic survey was carried out in the north-east of the concession area, followed by a 500 km 2D seismic survey in the west in 2011. The relevant data is in the process of being evaluated.
