RWE Dea – in the world of oil and gas production, the company's name stands for performance and competence, commitment and responsibility.Within the RWE Group RWE Dea is responsible for the exploration for, and production of, natural gas and crude oil, and in doing so, the company makes an important contribution toward securing energy supplies.

Geological expertise,state-of-the-art drilling and production technologies and a diverse range of professional experience and know-how make RWE Dea a powerful company engaged in numerous operations both at home and abroad. RWE Dea can look back on more than 100 years’ experience as a so-called E&P business – an enterprise engaged in the exploration and production of mineral resources. Safeguarding energy supplies and environmental protection are key corporate objectives. The production of natural gas, which plays an ever increasing role in a growing market, is a top priority for RWE Dea. In both our national and international activities, we cooperate with competent partners in numerous projects.

In Germany, RWE Dea’s operations are concentrated on natural gas exploration and production in the Lower Saxony region between the rivers Elbe and Weser, on the development of the Mittelplate oil field off the west coast of Schleswig‑Holstein, and on the operation of high-volume underground storage facilities for natural gas in Bavaria.

The international upstream activities currently focus predominantly on Norway, the UK, Egypt, Libya and Algeria, as well as on Denmark and Poland.
