Project description

Dermirer Holding constructed and operated this 39.2 MW onshore wind farm, in the region of Izmir-Ceşme-Manastir in Turkey. It consists of 49 wind turbines supplied by Enercon of which 32 units are installed at an altitude of 55 meters and 17 units at 50 meters altitude. The Mare Wind Farm will generate 129 GWh/year, delivered to the Turkish national grid.

Standard

As of 9 November 2007 Mare Manastir is officially registered by the Gold Standard organisation. The Gold Standard requires additional social & environmental project benefits, such as creating jobs & enhancing local economies. It is backed by 58 NGOs, among which the WWF. Registered Project no. GS 368

Baseline Methodology

The baseline carbon emission factor was calculated using UNFCCC consolidated methodology ACM0002. The baseline was validated by accredited designed operational entity TÜV Rheinland.

Additionality

The additionality is demonstrated using the “CDM Tool for Additionality”. The barrier analysis method was chosen and validated by TÜV Rheinland.
