Built according to the design specifications of the Düsseldorf architect Christoph Ingenhoven and completed in December 1996, the representative highrise, which was erected on the basis of ecological principles, has quickly become a popular landmark for Essen and the entire Ruhr region. The tower met with public approval from the very beginning. The highest office block in the Ruhr region has symbolic significance for the city of Essen, to which RWE feels bound by tradition. The architecture of the building is a visible reflection of RWE's philosophy of openness and transparency. With its modern design and combination of high-tech and environmentally friendly solutions, the RWE Tower has come to symbolize the region's future-oriented development.

The glass tower is also available for viewing to professional visitors. Specialist tours for architects and engineers under the expert guidance of RWE's facility management will take place at 3:30 p.m. every Tuesday of the first and third week of the month (except during vacation periods). Parking is only possible in public areas.

We regret that there is no suitable disabled access to the rooftop. There is an elevator to the 27th floor- from there, the rooftop can only be reached by climbing a flight of stairs.

For organizational and safety-related reasons, it is not possible to view individual offices. It is also not possible to take photographs within the building. It is also not allowed to bring animals with you. because of security reasons we will have to check your bags / briefcases before the tour through the building starts.
