Hydrohammer for offshore wind farm Nordsee Ost arrived in Bremerhaven

A real power tool arrived end of November in Bremerhaven: the hydrohammer ICH S-1200. This giant tool weighs 233 tons and will be deployed to install piles for the jacket foundations for the offshore wind farm Nordsee Ost. The complete structures will be installed in water depths of about 28 metres. Two hughe cranes lifted the hydohammer onto the quay of Loyd´s shipyard in Bremerhaven. During the mobilisation of the seabreeze vessel it will be installed onboard for its later use offshore. Find out more on the NSO website

Nordsee Ost

Construction preparations for 'Nordsee Ost' are on schedule. RWE Innogy expects its first German large-scale offshore wind farm to start operating in 2013. With an installed capacity of 295 megawatts, 310,000 households could benefit from climate-friendly electricity.
