RWE Innogy is investing in its second onshore wind farm in Italy. The Ururi wind farm with a capacity of 26 MW will be built approx. 20 km southeast of the coast town of Termoli in the region of Molise. The Ururi wind farm is due to be commissioned by the end of this year. The total of 13 wind turbines of the two megawatt class will be supplied by the Danish plant vendor Vestas. The investment in the wind farm will be made jointly by RWE Innogy Italia (51%) and Fri-El Green Power S.p.A. (49%).more

RWE Innogy is to build a factory to produce biomass pellets in the southern part of the US state of Georgia. The plant will have an annual production capacity of 750,000 tonnes, making it the biggest and most modern of its type in the world. The project will be carried out in collaboration with BMC Management AB, which specialises in the development of biomass manufacturing solutions and is based in Sweden. The pellets will be used in pure biomass power plants as well as for the co-firing of coal and biomass. The pellets plant is due to take up operation in 2011.
