RWE Innogy develops projects to harness marine energy. In this context, we are cooperating specifically with manufacturers of marine power plants. We intend to continue developing the technology to enable its efficient large-scale deployment in the long run.

Through the joint venture company Voith Hydro Ocean Current Technologies, we are in fact currently planning the use of a first, commercial-scale tidal current turbine. The turbine will allow us to build knowledge on how to harness marine energy off the Scottish coast, in the waters of the Orkney Islands.
