New Technologies
THE KEY TO OUR FUTURE
Even today, an energy mix without renewable energies would be inconceivable. Nevertheless, we are far from fully utilising their technical potential. This requires visionary thinkers, excellent engineers and the courage to chart new paths. RWE Innogy is spurring this process. We focus not only on applied research but also on partnerships with technology leaders and other young aspiring companies.
This requires visionary thinkers, excellent engineers and the courage to chart new paths. So we are planning, for example, biogas plants as well as marine power like tidal stream power stations and wave power plants. On solar thermal technology and geothermic we will concentrate deeply.
Marine energy - Power from the sea
RWE Innogy develops projects to harness marine energy. In this context, we are cooperating specifically with manufacturers of marine power plants. We intend to continue developing the technology to enable its efficient large-scale deployment in the long run.

Biogas – in harmony with nature
Nature is diverse – as are our concepts for the production of biogas. It is important for us to select the optimum plant for the best input substrate for every region – as a function of soil condition, water supply and climate.
Solar thermal -Power from the sun
We will also step up our commitment to solar thermal power plants. This fascinating way of generating power focuses the sunlight in parabolic trough collectors. We will keep advancing this technology in cooperation with partners and deploy it in solar thermal power plants with a capacity of up to 100 MW in southern Europe.
