RWE Innogy pools the renewable energy expertise and power plants of the RWE Group. The company plans, builds and operates facilities generating power from renewable energies. RWE Innogy aims to vigorously grow renewable energies in Europe.

RWE Innogy will set a strong focus to expand the already strong core businesses onshore and offshore wind power as well as to strengthen the generation from hydroelectric power. We are also pushing ahead with the development of new technologies for the future and operate for example biogas facilities. In addition, we support innovative companies in their start-up and growth phase by providing short-term finance.

RWE Innogy was launched with 1,100 megawatts (MW) in February 2008. This good starting position is being extended quickly. At present, we already operate a power plant capacity of around 2,800 megawatts based on wind power, biomass, hydroelectric power and new technologies.

Our mission statement and our corporate goals clearly define our action: We are trusted leaders in sustainability, renewable energies and innovative technologies.

We aim to have 3,500 MW of renewables-based generation capacities in operation or under construction by 2014. We are, of course, especially strong in our home market in Germany, followed by the United Kingdom, Spain, Poland, Italy and the Netherlands.
