To help promote awareness, our intranet includes an intercultural calendar presenting information about important national, cultural and religious holidays in every country in which we’re active. Giving our employees plenty of cause to celebrate.

Dedicated as ever to cultural diversity, RWE is fully signed up to the “Charta der Vielfalt” (“Diversity Charter”) – one of Germany’s largest corporate initiatives, with around 1,000 members and with partner initiatives across Europe. It’s good to connect.

Different religions mean different viewpoints, and here, RWE has always been open and welcoming. It’s why we always provide suitable locations where particular religious customs and practices can be honoured and observed. And, just as importantly, respected.

If you’re doing the same work, you’re entitled to the same pay. At RWE, that’s exactly what you get. Gender doesn’t enter into it – the amount you make will always be determined by your qualifications, your experience and the work you actually do. Because in pay, as in all other areas, equality is an integral part of the RWE spirit.

Like all DAX-listed companies, RWE has to make sure, among other things, that at least 30% of the Supervisory Board is female and at least 30% male. And, because we’re determined to see more women in leading positions, RWE has set up a training programme to help female executives prepare themselves for a seat on the Supervisory Board.

Additionally, our RWE women’s network promotes free and open exchange of ideas and experiences and encourages members to aim high in their career goals. We’ve also set up plenty of similar initiatives, including a platform for female employees with qualifications in maths, IT, science and technology, offering career support and opportunities for networking.

RWE’s action plan for inclusion was set up to help integrate people with disabilities into company activities. Clearly, it’s a success: our employment rates for disabled people have stayed consistently healthy, and we continue to offer plenty of traineeships for disabled people as well as permanently accessible workplaces. We also engage in promotions to help raise awareness, plus specific measures in areas like personnel development, training or healthcare. We’re determined to provide a workplace that’s open and accessible to everyone, on every level.

We’re committed to integrating people with severe disabilities into our business – with special representatives to look after their needs while also providing advice and support.

RWE offers specially tailored advice for applications from young people with disabilities - to make sure they have access and support through every stage of the process. Further help with the transition from school to the working world is also available: activities offering the chance to learn about various careers paths or traineeships for school students with disabilities.
