RWE’s first Australian renewables project is the Limondale Solar Farm, near Balranald in New South Wales.
The photovoltaic plant has about 872,000 panels on 770 hectares, and an installed capacity of 249 MWac.
It is one of Australia’s largest solar farms, generating enough electricity to power about 105,000 homes per year.
Construction of the project began in 2018 and full commercial operation started in 2021. The project has 7 full-time employees.

The project also has an annual $40,000 Community Benefit Fund to provide financial support for community events, organisations and social development.
It is also helping New South Wales meet the renewable energy targets established under the Government’s Renewable Energy Action Plan.
