RWE Renewables ranks among the largest global players in power generation from renewable energies with a total installed generation capacity of 9 gigawatts and an additional 2.6 gigawatts under construction. Our technology portfolio covers onshore and offshore wind, utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) solar power and energy storage. Our 3,600 renewables experts develop, build and operate large renewable energy assets in more than 20 countries in Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific.

Our goal is to rapidly expand the use of renewables energies with technologies that address the growing concern about energy security, energy affordability, and climate change.

RWE operates onshore wind farms in Spain, as well as small hydropower plants. We are also involved in a PV plant in the Spanish province of Toledo and in the solar thermal power station Andasol 3. A further large-scale solar farm went into operation south of the city of Ciudad Real in the Autonomous Community Castilla-La Mancha. It has a capacity of 45 megawatts and produces enough green electricity to supply around 25,000 homes in a climate-friendly manner. This is a strong basis for further growth on the Iberian Peninsula.
