Power Plants

To ensure secure and low-cost energy supplies for customers in the future as well, while lowering CO2 emissions thanks to innovative technologies at the same time – RWE, the  leading power generator in Germany and one of the biggest in Europe, is called upon to act at various levels. Hence, Research and Development is faced with many demanding tasks. Our scientists and engineers are dealing with current issues in today's power generation, whilst drawing up concepts for tomorrow's energy supplies. The aim is to use those technologies in a constantly changing energy market that maintain a balance between economic efficiency, security of supplies and environmental compatibility.

Setting standards

The challenges facing us are manifold. Still, we don't lose sight of the essentials. With innovative developments for our power plants and electricity grids, RWE is setting technological standards and providing vital impetus for the energy sector. Indispensable for any successful work is a constant swap of experience with partners from the scientific and industrial communities. Whether it be the implementation of low-emission power plants or the potential offered by biomass – RWE's engineers put a lot of time into national and international research projects to set the scene for future power generation.
